An International Cartoon Festival is taking place until the next weekend, in Amadora.
Usually I would wait until the last day, but this year I decided to go early.
So, on Saturday there we were.
Some pretty cool stuff, the classics, the newcomers, the internationally acclaimed and the not so internationally acclaimed portuguese illustrators.
There were some amazing illustrations like the picture above (representing Lisbon), from the brilliant João Abel Manta. You can check more here and here.
A special notice to Rui Lacas, Luis Henriques and the 1979 illustrations from Vitor Mesquita (that includes a Biologic Experimentation Lab above São Jorge’s Castle). And also for the presence of Tara Mcpherson posters, Jean Claude Denis and Cyril Pedrosa.
