Enquanto espero pela estreia do “Where the wild things are“, resolvi procurar uma curta de animação de 1973 acerca do mesmo livro. Acabei por encontrar algumas coisas engraçadas.
– 1973 version
– Playmobil Version
– Claymation w/ Shpongle music
– Claymation
– Filmed by high school students, w/ a nice soundtrack
– 1983 Disney CG Animation test

While waiting for the premiere of the movie “where the wild things are“, I went looking for an 1973 animation movie, based on the same book. In the end, I’ve found out some interesting stuff.

Looking forward to see these movies:

By Francis Ford Coppola, with Vincent Gallo. The trailer looks awesome.
Public Enemies

By Michael Mann. Not the best trailer in the world, but great casting: Johnny Depp, Christian Bale and Marion Cotillard (oh la la)
Whatever Works

By Woody Allen. And it really seems like a classic Woody Allen movie, but with Larry David.

By Tarantino… with Brad Pitt.

8 1/2 – The Italian Film Festival starts this Thursday.
VICKY CRISTINA BARCELONA
Last week I went to see Woody Allen’s latest movie, called “Vicky Cristina Barcelona”. It’s a very entertaining movie, that makes you want to live like that, in permanent vacations, somewhere in a sunny latino country.
I enjoyed the way he filmed Spain. Ok, maybe he used too many cliches, but in the end, I think it works perfectly well, and it’s a very amusing movie. And you just got to love Penelope Cruz performance.
QUIET CHAOS
Went to see “Quiet Chaos”/”Caos Calmo“, an italian movie based on the book with the same title, I read a few weeks ago. Nanni Moretti is the leading character, a man who decides to spend his days in front of his daughter’s school, after his wife died.
Pretty cool and simple movie, with a bonus appearance by Roman Polanski(!!).
I recommend it.

WALTZ WITH BASHIR (2)
There’s an excellent review on the Guardian, about the movie, “Waltz With Bashir”, that I mentioned on this post (4 October):
«This may be the most thought-provoking film I’ve seen all year,’ Xan Brooks says of Ari Folman’s inventive animated documentary about the Sabra and Shatila massacre of 1982»
