A DAY IN MECO
After a bad surfing day at Caparica, we faced Sunday as a new day, full of hope. The forecast wasn’t good (Wave direction N), but we kept our hopes, and went once more to Caparica… Flat. Our final destination were Meco beach, for a Sunday lunch with friends, so the worst thing that could happen…

SURFING DAY AT CAPARICA
Today was a strange day to surf in Costa da Caparica. We knew this day would come, and he did. The local authorities in Caparica are getting ready for winter, so the beaches are getting filled up with sand. The problem is that this change is obviously affecting the waves. With the exception of this spot,…

On the way to São Jorge cinema, I’ve just passed by the Louis Vuitton shop, in Lisbon. Altough it seems to be a worldwide installation, it was a nice surprise.

FRENCH FILM FESTIVAL
Just started the Lisbon French Film Festival. One film I’m looking forward to see is the animation “Waltz with Bashir” (picture above). Seems to have pretty cool screenshots. By the way, tomorrow it’s the last day to see the Lisbon Village Festival. A festival mainly dedicated to (digital) cinema, art and music.

OPEN HOUSE LONDON
Extremely interesting project that involves renovation, integration and innovation in the way we look at the city. Portuguese surfer Tiago Pires (Saca) has just won the first heat, on Round 1 of the Billabong Pro Mundaka. Oh, and yes, Kelly Slater did it too. They’re off to Round 3. By the way, do you remember Saca vs Kelly’s last result somewhere in Indonesia?

EXHIBITION @ CCB
Nice exhibition at CCB, Lisbon. The picture above is a video installation from Douglas Gordon (one of my favourite artists) “Left is right and right is wrong and left is wrong and right is right”. The exhibition also includes Julião Sarmento, but the most surprising moment was Jakub Nepras’s “Babylon Plant“. Very interesting.

ZAMBUJEIRA
I’ve just spent a week in Zambujeira (Odemira, Portugal). I took my longboard, but the surfing conditions weren’t the best, so I went lazy and didn’t even get the board on water.

A WEEK IN TAVIRA
I’ve just spent a week camping in Tavira. When I was younger (la, la, la) I used to go there. Now it’s slightly different, but it’s still worthwhile. It’s still a good place to have fun, get some sun, meet people and have some rest.
