Big waves, good wave direction, strong winds…
Time to get the camera out.

«Something good is going to happen, the optimists are nearby!»
Several abandoned buildings around Principe Real (Lisbon) had their doors painted blue, with pretty inspirational expressions. I’ve read, in here, that it was the work of a graffiti artist called Eko 5, but I’m really not sure.
There’s an excellent review on the Guardian, about the movie, “Waltz With Bashir”, that I mentioned on this post (4 October):
«This may be the most thought-provoking film I’ve seen all year,’ Xan Brooks says of Ari Folman’s inventive animated documentary about the Sabra and Shatila massacre of 1982»

Monty Python’s Youtube Channel
For 3 years you YouTubers have been ripping us off, taking tens of thousands of our videos and putting them on YouTube. Now the tables are turned. It’s time for us to take matters into our own hands.

To keep the spirits up, here’s some pics from the Four Oceans tournament, in Algarve.
More here and here.
Everywhere is the same. All over the world and in every language. There will always be a bunch of local surfers that don’t want anybody else on their front yard. Obviously, they love to go on surf trips to their neighbour’s front yard, but that’s a different story.
Some of the best days I had this [...]
Yesterday I got the opportunity to watch a presentation by Martin Varsavsky* in a conference in Lisbon. He’s quite an interesting guy and made one of the best presentations of the conference. He talked about the web, and how he still is optimistic about this economic crisis**. He also talked about craziness and about the [...]
Finally, Oceanlab’s new website is up and running.
We’ve created Oceanlab in 2002, and we have never had a decent website.
We always have to much work to do, we never have time, so we never went further than just some temporary websites.
And you know how this things are, we’re always the most difficult client.
But it’s finally [...]
This morning we’ve decided to go back to Caparica to see how things were, after the changes. It was a strange day of surf, but we’ve seen some guys having a ball.
Like the guy on the photo, for instance.
It’s Paulo Jacinto with a pretty cool surfboard from… Paulo Jacinto Surfboards.
Check out his site and his [...]
Today’s surfing conditions weren’t the best, but I really wanted to get in the water, and ten days had passed since my last surfing day, so… No more excuses needed.
Woke up at 7AM, left my girl in bed and went surfing.
This picture was taken after the surfing session, in Parede’s beach, where I’ve never surfed, [...]
My mom’s cat was attacked by some dogs and survived. But for three weeks we didn’t knew if she would ever walk again.
SHE’S FINE!!!!!
An International Cartoon Festival is taking place until the next weekend, in Amadora.
Usually I would wait until the last day, but this year I decided to go early.
So, on Saturday there we were.
Some pretty cool stuff, the classics, the newcomers, the internationally acclaimed and the not so internationally acclaimed portuguese illustrators.
There were some amazing illustrations [...]
Lisbon has beautiful examples of typography all around the city, and it’s been a long time overdue project of mine to try to capture some of them.
So the other day I decided it was time, and started to post them on Flickr.
You can check them out in here.
This particular photo is from a library, that [...]
